White is a powerful hue that can affect in various way our perception of the world.

This peculiar hue is a common symbol of purity.

After all, the vision of black as a symbol of impurity is deeply connected with this symbolism.

The concept of purity is then applied to other aspects of our lives, generating both positive and negative meaning.

Additionally, an example is the use of white in marriage to represent spiritual purity and vene verginity, a sort of purity of the body.

At the same time, the extreme purity of white is also a symbol of sterility that we can perceive in hospitals and nurses’ uniforms.

Despite the idea of sterility, white rooms tend to be perceived as more spacious. On the other hand, this extreme space can give a sense of solitude, emptiness, and coldness.

Then, physics helps us understand why white is considered a symbol of impartiality. Which color is more impartial than a hue that is composed by all the other hues?

Good and evil

An example of this is the concept of Ying and Yang, which is an example of the balance between white (symbol of good) and black (the symbol of evil). For reasons connected with the idea of purity, this hue is also an example of good behavior, innocence, and simplicity.
